Most Indians who have undertaken air travel will visit the IGI Delhi Airport at least once. In this post, I will be writing about my experience in Encalm Lounge Terminal 1 D in December 2023.
Location
In order to reach Enclam Lounge, one needs to first clear the security check. On clearing the security check one needs to go to leftwards away from all the gates. Take the lift at the far end and go to the first floor.
Check-In/Entry
At the entrance of the Enclam lounge, all visitors have two options either to pay for the entry or use their credit card's lounge benefits privileges. In case of paid entry, you will have to shell out around INR 1600. The other option is to use your credit card if it provides free domestic lounge visits as one of the privileges. Not all credit cards are accepted at the Enclam lounge. It is best to check with the helpline of your credit card provider before visiting Enclam lounge. If you have a premium credit card there are high chances that you will get a free entry. In my case my IDFC First Select Credit Card saved the day, three of my other cards were rejected.
Sitting Area
The sitting area of Enclam lounge is aesthetic and has a good positive vibe. It offers (a) lounge recliners, (b) restaurant-style sitting area and (c) pub style elevated sitting. I visited the lounge late at night, it was reasonably crowded even then. But the sitting area was clean and spotless.
Food & Beverage
Enclam lounge offers a buffet with a very decent spread. There were south indian options, english/continental food, confectionaries, north indian, etc. They were also making omelet/eggs on the spot as per your liking. Coffee and tea were the two beverage options, they were machine made, and like all machine made beverages lacked taste. Overall, I was happy and satisfied with the food. All food and beverages are offered for free and you do not have to pay anything once you are inside the lounge.
Other Services
Lounge offers newspapers/magazines for those interested in reading. Recliner chairs can be used for catching a quick nap. Lounge has a number of charging ports to facilitate charging of your mobiles/laptops.
Conclusion
Enclam Lounge on Terminal 2 at IGI Airport is a decent lounge. It is often crowded and that does impact its quality sometimes. However, in general, it offers its visitors a premium experience.
